Objective
The client was looking for a cover that could visually express the emotional weight of losing someone irreplaceable. The challenge was to capture that sense of absence and longing in a single image — without relying on clichés or over-dramatization.
Process
The creative direction started with a deep listen to the song, from which two key elements emerged: an empty chair and a fading presence. These ideas were developed into a 3D scene built entirely from scratch, with careful attention to texture, lighting, and emotional tone. To add motion and depth, a subtle particle animation was created in After Effects, portraying the figure gradually dissolving — evoking memory and emotional disappearance. The lighting and muted color palette were designed to support the sense of nostalgia and reflection.
Results + Impact
The final cover delivers a quiet yet powerful visual: a solitary chair and a fading silhouette, accompanied by a short animated version designed for visualizers, social teasers, and digital storytelling. Both formats maintain emotional depth and visual strength, even at small scales. The artwork gave the single a distinctive identity on streaming platforms, helping it stand out and emotionally prepare the audience for the music’s story, while the animated version was praised for its poetic execution and technical polish.
